Established in 1882, St. Ambrose University is located in Davenport, Iowa. St. Ambrose is a private, Catholic school. St. Ambrose is known for strong academic programs, small campus, and many clubs and sports to be involved in.
St. Ambrose University, also known as “The Fighting Bees”, is home to 21 varsity collegiate sports and over 40 clubs and organizations. St. Ambrose is part of the Midwest Collegiate Conference or the MCC, and offers eleven men’s sports and ten women’s sports. The athletic department of St. Ambrose strives towards excellence from its students. Thirteen of the sports teams are NAIA Scholar Teams, meaning that all athletes on those teams have a minimum of 3.0 GPAs. The athletic department’s goals at St. Ambrose are for their athletes to be well-rounded students as well as well-rounded athletes.
